Brenda Mbathi - Chief Executive Officer

Brenda Mbathi is a seasoned, passionate, articulate leader in Africa. In her previous role as the President & CEO of GE East Africa, Brenda was responsible for leading GE’s operations within the East African region with a focus on a Company-to-Country approach, demand creation, financing efforts, talent development, risk management, and building a strong GE brand.

Brenda’s strategic focus on building strong partnerships, localization efforts, and accelerating GE’s digital industrial transformation has yielded significant growth outcomes for GE across East Africa.

In addition to her President & CEO role, Brenda served as Chairman of GE’s Inclusion & Diversity Council for GE International Markets (all territories outside of the USA & Europe) and was the sponsor & coordinator for GE Women’s Network in Africa.

Brenda has over 30 years of experience in various fields with a recent focus on government affairs & public policy, CSR, and general management. She joined GE in March 2015 as Director of Government Affairs & Public Policy for East Africa.

Brenda holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations & Geography from Mount Holyoke College, Massachusetts in the United States.

She currently serves as President of the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) Kenya Chapter; a member of President Biden’s Advisory Council on Doing Business in Africa (PACDBIA); Chairman of Global Economic Advisory Council; a Board member of the US Chamber Africa Business Centre; Vice Chairman of the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) and a Governor of the Mpesa Foundation Academy.

Justus Kariuki - Chief Operations Officer

Justus Kariuki is a passionate leader with extensive experience in public service and Special Economic Zones Management. He has over 20 years of working experience in stakeholder management, public sector leadership and governance, parliamentary practices and procedures, human resource management as well as public sector budgeting.

In his former role as Executive Vice President at Tatu City, Justus spearheaded the operationalization of the Tatu City SEZ, where he was responsible for managing critical stakeholders and Government actors.

Justus has also served in the President’s Delivery Unit that advanced the implementation of the Government development agenda, where he was the Senior Director responsible for development coordination in the 24 Counties falling under Rift Valley, Nyanza, and Western Regions.

Justus holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Egerton University, a Master of Science degree in Human Resources Management, and is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Leadership and Governance from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.

Brian Mwau - Business Development Officer

Brian Mwau is an accomplished executive with a distinguished track record of driving transformative change and achieving remarkable milestones across diverse corporate sectors. With over 7 years of progressive experience, he has consistently excelled in mid-level roles, delivering exceptional results and demonstrating strategic acumen.

His journey commenced as an intern at Kenya Trade Network Agency (KENTRADE), where he gained foundational insights into the trade industry. This experience laid the groundwork for his ascent. His role as General Manager at Scraj Homes Limited, a real estate startup, saw him orchestrate successful business expansion, increasing total assets under management from KES 0.7 billion to KES 1.59 billion.

During his tenure at Tribus-TSG, a subsidiary of Centum Investments PLC, Brian held dual responsibilities as the Cyber Security Division Lead and the Ajiry Program Lead. As the Cyber Security Division Lead, he adeptly led a team of experts, fortifying digital landscapes with cutting-edge technology. Concurrently, as the Ajiry Program Lead, he connected youth with transformative employment opportunities, securing a USD 2.19 million Mastercard Foundation Grant and expanding the program’s reach to over 700,000 participants. Notably, he designed, developed, and executed the Zero Contact Food Distribution System, benefiting over 100,000 vulnerable Kenyan families within just 4 months

Brian’s commitment to excellence is further underscored by his recognition as Kenya’s Top 35 under 35 in the ICT category by Youth Agenda Kenya. He also proudly served as Centum Investment Company Plc’s Brand Ambassador, significantly contributing to attracting vital investments to the Group.

His unwavering dedication to professional growth, strategic leadership, and delivering tangible outcomes positions him as a remarkable asset to the TRIFIC team. Please note that his dual role at Tribus-TSG concluded on July 31st, 2023. As he embarks on this new chapter, his vision, expertise, and track record of success herald a promising era of growth and impact at TRIFIC.
